Historical Summary, Rotary Club of Sevierville, Noonday
           
On April 19, 1955 , the first meeting of the Sevierville Rotary was held at the Alma's Cafe in downtown Sevierville. Mr. Frank Fowler was elected as the first President. There were twenty Charter members. In forty-nine years of existence the club's membership has grown and evolved to a current membership of eighty.

The Sevierville Rotary Club has become the premier service club for the Sevierville area leading the way for others to follow in stepping forward for needs and innovative ways of service to the Sevierville area.

The Sevierville Club has always been an outstanding supporter of the Rotary Foundation. The precedent for support of the Rotary foundation was established by Mr. Tom Morrisey, one of the charter members. the generosity of the Sevierville Club is recognized as one of the highest Rotary Foundations contributors in District 6780.

Paul Harris Fellows are an important foundation in the Sevierville Rotary. The Sevierville club currently has approximately eighty percent of its current membership being Paul Harris Fellows. The optimum goal is 100 percent.

Sevierville Rotarians have excelled in attendance. Every meeting our Sergeant-At-Arms and President stress the importance of attendance as part of what makes up the duties of a person who calls them self a Rotarian. The Club has been first in District 6780 attendance data frequently and sustains itself in the top three. Attendance makes a difference in the benefits of membership and contributions a member can make.
